  • Arguing with you its like discussing with a child. Please GROW Up! YOU said the A380 doesn't truimph over the 747 in none aspect. I have prove YOU wrong for the XXXth time and now you are avoiding the discussion by judging the A380 by its look. BTW, Airbus IS NOT FRENCH nor it does base on french engineering, do some research before posting CRAP! And you lie you are by NO WAY a aircraft enthusiast just a Boeing FANBOY. Maybe you did notice i've never bashed Boeings but stated just some critics?

  • I wont start to argue to convince you against your stupid bias for american planes. But what you write is utter nonsense. The A380 is faster, can fly higher, can climb faster, higher thrust weight ratio, can land slower, carry much more payload, more range, 30% more fuel efficient and more safe then any 747 and thats FACT! If that isnt any triumpf over the 747 then you better tell the airlines which ordered 200 of them! Btw the 747 ISN'T doing well it sold jut 8 copies as passanger plane.

  • the dubble bubble is cool!

  • @nonsequiturboy I think the original reason they had for looking at that concept was that they could use two A340 fuselages, hence cheaper. However, the structural strengthening required to make that work would have made the aircraft prohibitively heavy. Furthermore, the horizontally-lengthened shape of a fuselage shape like that does not make a very good pressure vessel - it distorts badly when pressurised.

All in all, just a bit too wacky to actually work. Good concept though! XD

  • A QUESTION: The P500 concept is a sideways "double bubble". In a recent US airline design competition, the winner (a team from MIT) featured a sideways double bubble. They argued that instead of generating load (as in current "tube with wings" aircraft), a wide cabin would generate some lift, like a cheap man's BWB. My question is: WHY DID AIRBUS DROP THIS DESIGN? The A380 could have been a very different aircraft, with better fuel efficiency and possibly more useful as a cargo aircraft.

  • for some reason I like p500

  • Maybe once you have matured you will be able to see things in a objective manner without having a stupid nationalistic and patriotic bias. THEN we can talk again else i have nothing more to say as its to tiresome and timeconsumig to rectify you everytime you post one of the biggest nonsense i've ever read. Believe what you want its good to know airlines do know what they do and don't relay on opionion of a biased ignorant cheerleader. Look at salesnumbers of both companies and you will see.

  • Are WE talking about looks????? NO, we talked about technical aspects and not how good or bad something looks. Else i would claim the 747LCF would be the most ugly plane but forgetting it was not designed to look good instead it was made to be a excellent freighter! Thats what is the difference between some fanboys without the slightlest knowledge of aviation and real experts. AIRLINES don't buy planes for how they look . They buy planes for what they CAN.

  • Again you are showing your lack of knowledge. Airbus was a gathering of diffrent europan company's which were almost as (1920) old as Boeing. For example the Comet the first jet liner was built by a company which knows belongs to Airbus. Same as Concorde. So wrong Boeing has not more experience in constructing planes. Bashing the A380 doesn't change the fact the 747 is obsolete as the A380 triumphs in EVERY aspect over the 747 like it or not.
