Over the past year I've gotten lots of queries into the stage ball poi set I've come to use most frequently in my tech blog the past few months. I've not seen another tutorial out there on how they are made (at least not on YouTube), so here goes. Hopefully if you've been interested in them, this will tell you everything you need to know to make your own set. I think Ronan had the original design, but used the end caps of juggling clubs for his handles. The use of furniture feet is an idea I borrowed from Alien Jon.

  • i have a few questions :P sorry if it's a bother, do you have a site you can get these balls off of? i can't tell if the balls are hollow on the one i found. second, what size rope is that? thank you if you answer :)

  • @pricefrederick336 I usually get them from Home of Poi. They're Mr. Babache stage balls. The rope is 6 mm, I believe. You can also get stage balls from Fire Mecca or Dube, but they tend to be a different size and a different consistency. I like the MB's because they're very soft and forgiving.

  • thanks a ton for this vid. but i have a really stupid question because i am 100% new at this. what do you use to keep them lit? they are plastic correct?

  • @GlowFreak101 These don't light up, they're strictly for daytime use.

  • great stuff dude. thanks! ill be making some with my older stage balls.

  • Dude! Thanks for making this video. I went out the same day and got everything I needed and made a few sets. I used dogballs on one set and they flow soooooo good. I would have never thought to use chair tips!

    once again, thanks!

  • Very nice! I actually use this exact same method, except instead of using stage balls I use tennis balls. The ones I make are a bit lighter, but a balloon with a bit of rice fixes that problem nicely. Keep it up, your videos have inspired me to work more on my tech stuff. :D

  • Awesome! Thank you so much! I've known how to make these for awhile I just didnt know what where to get a good quality rope. What size rope did you use anyways? Also you can use juggling club knobs as handles. I believe that what Ronan actually uses.
