I agree, don't complain about the lack of Q, yes we all love the sound, but based on the traffic I can see, there really wasn't an urgent need for siren anyway. I have never seen a Q in england or anywhere in europe or asia for that matter. Plus studies have been done on effective siren use and its proven that the Yelp from an electronic siren is the most noticable and best "traffic moving" siren tone. With hi-lo being the least effective (sorry england)

stop complain about them not using the Q mb they didnt want to be dick and make the people go deaf they endin up using it anyways so stop complaining

@FarmingtonNHFire Because a safety study proved that drivers and pedestrians look for a RED Fire Engine when they hear a siren, not a White or yellow etc.

@fireutility21 It definitely is a tradition, and I love the sound of a good Q. My comment isnt to say the Q cant move traffic though, I personally like to use the Q in addition to the electronic siren, since most trucks come equipped with both. My guess would be that most european fire departments dont use the Q because of the size of their trucks. The Q draws huge amperage and would hurt the fuel efficiency.
