SeaTac - After hearing that Q13 Fox News anchor was recently diagnosed with Hodgkin's Lymphoma, some local BMX riders decided to dedicate their upcoming "Race for Life" event to the popular TV personality.
The riders are getting down and dirty at the North SeaTac BMX park, gearing up for the upcoming race, which is coming up on June 21st, but signups are going on right now.
The American Bike Association has teamed up with the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society to raise money and awareness for folks--like Bill--who are battling blood-related cancers.
"We're racing for you, Bill!" The riders shouted in unison.
"It's for leukemia and Bill Wixey has Hodgkin's Lymphoma", says BMX rider Ryan Hyland. A lot of kids get leukemia every year, and that's not good. So we want to find a cure."
Bill has started chemotherapy treatments for Hodgkin's--which was fortunately caught early, so Bill has a better than 90% chance of being cured after treatment. To follow Bill's journey, you can check the Q13FOX website, or Bill's blog at blog.billwixey.com.
