This is one of the video series made for my thesis about Philippine Creation Myths. Here, Tungkung Langit lost his wife, Alunsina, and made the Earth so that she will see it and come back home.

*******************************
It was intended to be a standalone flash file, but for some technical reason, and after a few days of fruitless tries, these programs decides to help:

- Adobe Soundbooth (c/o Adobe Suite)
- Windows Movie Maker (one of the rare instances that I *have* to use it)

Besides Macromedia Flash, this video was also aided by Adobe Photoshop (for the initial drawings).

Dubbing, Script, and Art done by Theresa Rañada
Based on the story from Damiana Eugenio's Philippine Folk Literature: the Myths.
Language: English, with supporting subtitles.

Thanks to Justine, Mami Ket, and Shin.

  • I like your concept. Would you like to make a better version of this? This can have real animation movements and we can also make a tagalog version. Contact me if interested. :-)

  • That would be nice. But right now I don't have time to improve any of the videos I did (Si Sicalac at si Sicauay vid was originally planned to use puppets).

But if ever, I'll probably do them through Flash.

May I ask why you were asking? And thanks for the comment.

  • Who did this? :D

  • Uhm...I did the visuals, and the story is based from Damiana Eugenio's stories. Check the information besides the video window.

  • I really like the concept! :).. also the story kinda represent the two Visayan Gods Kaptan and Manguayen,

  • goodd....i like it

  • I say pre Visayan Myth and Tagalog Myth are awesome salamat sa pagmamahal sa sa atong sariling mythology

  • Do you mind if I take the sound track of this video? I would like to make a video illustrating the same story. Nindot kaayo man ni!
