One viewer of my channel requested for this technology (!) and here it is .. I am guessing that it must be some kind of a problem to use pressure cookers in
some parts of the world.. ( it could trigger off the security system, and send the inspectors of wmd to your kitchen ;-) ) .. so here is how you do it .. You take a sufficiently large vessel into which you pour some water and in another container place the rice to be cooked with the required quantity of water.. you place the larger vessel on a suitable gas / electric stove, cover with a lid and heat till the water begins to boil.. adjust down the flame so that the steaming is steady .. at the end of ten minutes ( for the quantity shown here ) the rice would be cooked .. and you may need to decant some extra water ...so there !
EAT!
Note: You can cook almost any vegetable by the same method and in fact if you have a large enough steaming vessel.. you can place two or three containers and all will cook simultaneously .. only the time taken would be more and you will have to cook for a substantially longer period if you are trying to cook lentils ... or ( i'm told, though i will never know, ) meat ...

  • if soy sauce and steamed or fried rice was the only thing to eat, i would be one happy man

  • i had noticed that the walls of apartments were made of some sort of wood, ( not sound proof ) and when the pressure cooker lets off steam it gives off a loud hiss, which, if you're not used to, can unnerve you even if you're in the next apartment ..hope i understood your question and responded correctly .. :-)

  • I live in the US and I've never heard of that. Why is it?

  • like i mentioned in my "about the video", in certain parts of the world ( i noticed this in the usa, your neighbours will complain if you use a pressure cooker.. and so it may not be possible to use .. further steam cooking is considered by many as a good way to retain the nutrients better in a cooked food than direct heating ..

  • this is such a simple technique..but whats the difference between this method and the regular one...are there any health reasons uncle..

  • youre welcome ... the large pot method is ok .. but inevitably ( my experience ) some of the rice gets stuck and burn in the bottom of the vessel .. a bit messy ..
