A short clip showing a direct comparison between the OEM light bulb (left) and a new LED bulb (right) that I am prototyping for my late model Corvairs. The light in the photo is from a 1966-1969 but it will also work in the 1965. This clip shows both marker and turn signal function.

  • These are definitely brighter than the stock bulbs. Are you selling these anywhere? They seem like a good option to be a little more visible in my '65

  • @Pacerace100 Not at this time. Maybe next fall.

  • hey i like what you did with your car. what color led bulb did you use? red or white?

  • Neither technically. Pure red LEDs are not bright enough compared to the much preferred hyper-orange color (It is also called red/orange by some manufacturers like Cree and Lumileds). Using white is not a good idea since it wasteful to create all that white light and then filter all but a small range of wavelengths back out through the red lens to get back to the desired red color.

  • Cool!

  • Looks great! The LED is so much sharper looking.
