John and Marie Braun were among the 13 people arrested while engaging in civil disobedience in front of the White House on January 26, 2010. They were protesting the deaths from the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan.
The DC police held them overnite, moved them 4 times, didn't feed them for 15 hours and shackled their hands and feet for their court appearance.
The Brauns speak of the injustice of treating hundreds of thousands of people who are charged with minor offenses in this degrading, humiliating manner.
While Teabaggers yell and scream and talk of violence get carte blanche from loonie Congressmen and all the coverage and endorsement in the world, peace protestors don't get the same rights and are treated like criminals...

Dry bread and bologna are typical everyday meals in jails and prisons. This treatment is just a mild version of how they treat people. The police are horrendous, violent, abusive, and so are corrections officers. The government clearly wants them that way.
