Just dip them in either auto trans fluid or powersteering fluid. It not only lubricates, it cleans it.

  • Transmission fluid has a crap load of cleaning agents in them. I use it in my engine for about 10 mins before an oil change.

  • @Mrblacktop87 Im not so sure about that, it could have a negative affect on the bearings, if you do your oil changes at the right time you shouldn't have to worry about sludge build up.

  • neat trick.. hey! I wanna see some lego red- lining puh-l0kiz

  • @JakeDaSnakeFilms I could hook up and air drill and see if i can melt them via rpm's

  • i use vaseline in my rachets if because grease dries out and if you use atf it just washes the lubricant out

  • good idea for freeing up ratchets. I suppose I would rather rebuild mine tho but still cool

  • @FordNissanChevy naw its fine... old trick to quiet lifters is add a lil ATF

  • i have allot of s-k ratchets and i just take them apart and clean them out and then lightly oil them that way you don't have oil dripping out and running down the handle when you are trying to use it.

  • @FordNissanChevy Yeah this was for a old 87 Buick regal that had sludge built up before I got it. Not sure if it was from neglect or someone using stop leak. Haven't had any problems yet, probably because I don't let it stay in there that long.

  • I need to try

  • Good stuff! I thought about something like this for my tools.
