RIVE is an entirely new approach to the 4-wheeled motorcycle. The RIVE uses simple linkages to allow the wheels and rider to lean at will, completely independent of the suspension system. The wide stance and leaning technology doesn't allow the RIVE to fall over and you won't go down sliding out in a turn. Plus, it's a blast to ride!!! What you are seeing is the prototype we just started riding. More video's to come. The leaning technology of the RIVE can be easily adapted to a 3-wheeled motorcycle, in either 2 in front or 2 in back configurations.

Like I say, the leaning technology can be used to create a 3-wheel version. We could take pretty much any motorcycle, remove the forks and front wheel, and mate it to the RIVE front end. It's not complicated to do, but it wouldn't be cheap, since it would be a one off custom job. I would like to do this though. So if your are interested in the project, let me know. You would have a 3-wheeler much like the Can-Am Spyder, but leaning, feeling, and acting just like a motorcycle. What would be nice is if I had 10 or more of you that wanted to do this and seriously lower the cost for each conversion.

  • Future development of the RIVE will be to an all electric vehicle. It's not a "green" thing, it a performance thing. The leaning mechanism of the RIVE allows for extreme cornering lean angles of 60+ deg. The only thing stopping that from happening is the drive train of the internal combustion engine. There are multiple advantages to the use of electric hub motors at each wheel in addition to full lean capability (immediate full torque, elect. traction control, 4x4 drive, shorter wheelbase, etc.)

  • Looks both long and wide atm compared to other concept and production machines whats the planned motor (I prefer a v-twin and it sounds like one)\wheelbase dimensions?

A criticicism I have of all leaning and static Quadcycles is there is no external part of body work for you to put your knee on so you arent just depending on the person supporting all their body weight with their arms and opposite leg on the bike. They can actually put their inside knee onto a nerf that may contact the ground.

  • @SXSMachine The RIVE is not a quad. It is a four-wheeled motorcycle, and the leaning mechanism of the RIVE is different than any other leaning 3 or 4-wheeled vehicle. What the RIVE offers is the safety and performance of 4 wheels, with the freedom and fun of a motorcycle.

  • @SXSMachine I have no idea what your comments are getting at, and honestly don't care. Sounds to me like you don't ride motorcycles. NO. The RIVE is not targeted at disabled people. It is intended to be a high performance machine.

  • The 4-wheeled stability of the RIVE offers many advantages. One example is, you can slide while in a corner without going down.

  • Now drift it!!

  • How much would the conversion b if you do all four wheels on a 06 zx10r????

  • @sonicpete: Because of the risk of falling.

  • Hurry up ad get those PATENTS!! Nice work!! You should be able to make a fortune converting Spyders and others. Go to your local dealers and show them the footage and convince them to offer your tech as an option for their customers.
