I was required to create a five-minute, non-fiction, visual piece for my high school Literary Arts course, and so I chose to feature one of the many fascinating anecdotes my father has told over the years. This story is one that often comes up, for its sheer notability -- a universal example of conflict resolution. I asked him to not get into specifics about what each side believed in, so that it could be a tale of reconciliation that more people could relate to.
There are some things about this work I'd like to change - particularly having more variation in the re-enactment shots. It is, however, very satisfying to know that this video has been put into use at the Institute of Cuban Studies (ICS) in Florida, US. It has been shown in seminaries to promote harmony between Cubans with political differences.
¿Por que no haces una version en español? Me gusta mucho pero no todos los cubanos afuera hablan ingles. es hora de que no sigamos de enemigos. !Viva Cuba!

I am a Cuban immigrant. The main problems between Cubans is hate. Hate that is fed by the Cuban government and also by some extremists in Miami. Both need an enemy. We have to find a way to understand each other beside any political preference. We should stop been puppets of our hate masters! It takes more courage to forgive than to hate. Congratulations!
