SFC Robbie Johnson is the second shooter featured. He's 2 time winner of the International Sniper Team Challenge held at Ft. Benning and he's a former Ranger. Think he knows how to shoot long range and as a sniper.

Regardless. A precision weapon such as a sniper must use concentration to get an accurate hit. If you are in a battlefield with Artillery, Abrams and dodging bullets from the enemy, You do not have that level of concentration believe me. I'm saying that an 'effective' marksman is best put into use away from the action in a safer position where he has a much wider view of the battlefield and has a level of concentration to think about which target is the bigger threat and actually save lives.

Finally, there is no "sniping" in this video. At all. Most of those rifle shoots are made offhand at a range of about 100 meters or so, from the video. Sniping describes manuevering a dedicated marksman, a rifle expert, into a position of enemy vulnerability, shooting for specific targets, and exfiltrating. Shooting's part, but not all. For reference into the evolution of sniping, read "Shooter" by USMC GySgt Jack Coughlin. It's a great book.

Also, you're describing a sniper, and you're using an antiquated mentalility that hasn't been effective in current urban combat. Sniper teams are now primarily mobile units that move quickly into and out of vulnerable positions to psychologically discourage enemy morale. Yes, they mostly run with infantry. There's no "sniper platoon." The spotter is trained as a rifleman as well.

I go to military college. My roommate and two good friends are both veterans. The point of this is, this "marksmanship" unit, is like the Golden Knights: recruiting, showcasing skills, and to be instructors.
Marksmanship is taught to ALL riflemen: infantry, artillery, armor, MPs, etc. "Marksman" don't have 100% accuracy, but they can engage a mansized target to 500 yards and beyond without magnification.
They train troops and recruit when they aren't shooting competitions.....P.S....I wonder what the Nazi's who posted here about "whites" would think of KC Eusibio (a Filipino who is also on the team)?....The last time I checked the military was integrated about a hundred years ago...Morons

1) That still has nothing to do with this video.
2) Snipers don't operate alone, and I can't see why they'd be in an area danger-close to friendly artillery and armor.
3) How do you know I don't have that level of concentration? Ever get wolfpacked and quarterdecked by drill instructors and try listening to instructions at the same time?
4) The sniping team doesn't hang back... that's called an overwatch. They go ahead and recon to establish an OP. Why do you think it's a "scout sniper?"
