Ebow lessons demo Link Below:
An improvised guitar performance using the E-Bow Plus, and featuring many video filters. I figured it was a little boring with one camera angle so I went off experimenting with the filters in Final Cut Pro.

Here's an mp3 of the cassette that comes with the ebow Plus featuring Lenny Walker, a very skilled ebow user:

Nerdly Tech Info:

This is a live performance done in one take. I used a VX2100 camera with modified audio (Greg Winter Mod), and a Sound Devices MixPre mixer. There was a Century Optics .65 wide-angle lens on the camera. Recorded with 2 mics, a Sennheiser e906, and an AT4033a recorded hard left & right and later mixed to mono (for youtube encoding). Guitar is a Gibson Les Paul Studio Lite with Bartolini PBF 49, & 51 pickups. Amp: Mesa Lone Star Special set to clean channel. Boss DD-6 digital delay set to "Hold". ebow Plus was used with the neck pickup.

The video was captured in Final Cut Pro, and color correction was used to find a nice general color. Then I started desaturating to go to black & white then back to color. I also cut the video clips in time to parts of the performance and added as many filters as I could, making their flow more organic using key frames set to rhythms in the performance.

I hope you like it! It took 9 minutes to write and perform this, and about 4 evenings to edit the video. Feel free to ask me any questions.

  • pretty cool,pretty cool,pretty neat pretty neat.

  • U did a great job on the video, thx

  • @thumbfacenot Hi> I'm not sure if I answered your question. I was using a Boss DD-6 for looping. I recorded the 2 mics straight into my camera all in one take. There's a new Boss DD-7 out that has a little more delay time.

  • @FadedMain1 Most important answer: VERY!

  • most important question...how stoned were you at the time of this?

  • @tranquil369 Best I can suggest is to subscribe to both Chadfish and Chadwork1, and you'll get notification when I upload. Right now I'm swamped with work and can't record anything. I will say that the Barts are nice pickups, and a decent upgrade if you're thinking of doing it. I'll try to get something going. It's hard to tell the difference without first recording with the original pickups.
