  • Hi Shaun your paintings are fantastic. Was wondering if you could tell me what colours you use for rocks? And can you give me any tips for blending them? When i try to paint them they always look "wrong". thanks

  • @revolver230979 For rocks like these I usually block in their shapes using a dark brown then highlight them with a mix of raw sienna and white. Rocks can be frustrating to paint as they don't usually have any uniform charactaristics. I try not to overwork them or they tend to look too smooth and un-natural. Try to create defined areas of light and shade. I hope that helps.

  • Shaun, I'm sure you love being pelted with frivolous questions, however.. any chance you're using an acrylic gel medium, or are you just using top shelf acrylics and not craft or house paints like some of us other painters? With or without a response, excellent work.

  • @35ABSTRACT Hi, I am not using an acrylic gel medium in this painting. I tend to use various brands of artist's acrylic paint depending on the colour and the quantities needed. I like experimenting with different types of paints and media with more abstract style work but with landscapes etc I try to fine tune the materials used and stick with what I'm used to. Thanks for your question.

  • Is it a canva ?

  • @mreinstein48 Yes it is painted on a stretched canvas.
