@slappymcbass you haven't looked hard enuogh if you can't find a video that's not slang :p

@stillphil I've always hated that quote. I bet Louie was sorry he said that. I didn't match his personality.
-
@Motuorg great analogy. a good measure of a great artist is how many ignorant detractors they have. same people looked at picasso and asked, "why are the eyes on the same side of the head?"...pearls before swine

@johnwiseman17 As Ingrid so succinctly put it, he served one month for each of the children he left fatherless. ANYONE trained in martial arts should have had more self control, especially when dealing with someone who talked as much shit as Jaco.
Anyway, we'll always have the music. What a master.

It just doesn't get any better than this.

@benjbass32 Makes me think of what "Pops" said “If you have to ask what jazz is, you'll never know.” Louis Armstrong

And then I heard Jaco.

"god this is garbage..i want my minute back.."
@yaiknowscrewme Why, so you can waste it just like every other minute of your stupid little life?

@benjbass32 You are totally right! I am a bit of an armature musician (Keyboards/Piano for 30+years) myself. Personally, although I LOVE classical & jazz/blues (& also World music, Afro Pop, Classic Rock (LedZep,Floyd, Eagles, Hendrix, etc + much more) I have an affection for most music. With very few exceptions, that which I don't actually like, I can at least "appreciate". Anybody who knows not what makes Jaco so "great", is obviously a complete musical ignoramus! Piss on them I say!!!

man where can i get this whole concert in one file
For me--and this isn't to dis Stanley Clarke or Jeff Berlin or any of the other great bassists the world knows or has known--but speaking for myself, there was Jaco and then there was everybody else. On his best nights, when he was really, really on--no one could touch him.
