He's taking it easy like Damien Rice did when he first got onto the scene after Juniper. O was released 2/3 years before he started to really publish himself outside of Ireland.
Hence the release in B-Sides and "Cannonball".
Flannery is such a down to earth guy and to be honest it's what I like about him. And I completely agree with you, he's the perfect doing what he's doing now. This guy has so much in him and I'm looking forward to what happens next.

He's most likely to build up a cult following than go into the mainstream! Which would be better for him! I was at that gig! It was my second time seeing him! unreal! Even without a drummer!

It was amazing to watch him. He honestly did not get the acclaim he deserved for his last album, hopefully EMI will do him justice. He was really taken aback with the crowd in the roisin too, i was speaking to him afterwards and he said he hadn't been expecting that much of a crowd.. he has the following so i relly think he can make it big.

He funded his first album with competition money and only released "White Lies" recently so its still early days

mrdoonbeg....he's actually signed with EMI...just to let ya know...and he is fuckin lethal...he played a little gig in the pub i work in last month...fuckin great stuff...
I know that, but there's no point being signed to a record label in Ireland if you don't get worldwide notice! Remember all those great Irish bands of the past, never made it! Why, record companies didn't do enough to promote them abroad!!!
