A review of the recently released GNOME edition of Sabayon. Again overall impressions are fairly positive, no sound issues as stated in the KDE version. It's definitely a power user distro for those who love Linux as a core, and want configuration options dropped conveniently into the menus. A powerful, modular distro that could provide a rock solid developer platform.

Also please leave some feedback regarding the new intro, and in case you were wondering, the music can be downloaded off Owl City's blog for free, as he was mucking around with an 8-bit retro plug-in recently.

  • Hi. I like this OS and I appreciate the work you are doing. Do you know where from the 5.5 (Gnome) version can still be downloaded? All the links I found lead to the last version (6.0). I have some problems with the video card (NVidia) on the computer on wich I tried Sabayon 6.0. Ver. 5.2 works fine (I downloaded earlier), but I want to try also 5.5. So, can you help me?

  • @gepetto336 No, I can't find Sabayon 5.5 anywhere. Problem is that it's a rolling release, so it's kind of hard for it to stay stagnant on the web with its iso's. Sorry bout that...

  • If linux is profesional... why is that intro so amateur?

  • @Neaniscuo Because, it's an amateur that makes the videos - not the system - of course. ;-)

  • Man, you are doing a great job. I am a very stable user, I am still on Ubuntu 10.04, I do not probe all the distros..Your work is great for me, because it allows me to see the work on other distros without install it or download it. THANKS

  • @POLANCOPAULINO You're welcome. :-)

  • @Neaniscuo Fucking jackass, the intro has nothing to do with the video...

Find another way to be a jackass.

  • @InfinitelyGalactic hahaha it was a joke bro, nice videos. :D
