@NotByBreadAlone77 Wrong, the Sabbatarians believed in sola scriptura and were separated and existed during the Martin Luther affair, one of Luther's best friends was a Sabbatarian and observed the Saturday Sabbath. The Church of Rome is a false church, created by a gentile, yet salvation comes from a Jewish Messiah, through an Israelite covenant. The Romans come from Esau, the brother of Jacob, hence their intolerable hatred.
I have a better question. Since Jesus Christ is God. Did Jesus Christ taught that? Did Jesus Christ practiced that? If you say NO. Then, don't claim to be a follower of Jesus Christ. Now, don't make it hard on you. You try to intellectualized everything about God and you know you can't becasue Jesus says:
Matthew18:3 unless u change n become like little children,u will never enter d kingdom of heaven
No,every1 in my church just heard d Gospel of Jesus Christ. That's what Christ commanded. We heard it. Now,we just gather to bring more people to Christ. The church of Jesus Christ is not that complicated like urs who has to many garments, accoutrements n regalia like fashion show
Mark13:10And d gospel must 1st be preached to all nations
Luke24:47and repentance for d forgiveness of sins will be preached in his name to all nations
@NotByBreadAlone77 Your sacraments came ALL from Scripture. What's suprassing is. You go around telling everyone your church invented the bible. Yet, you don't claim ALL teachings should be based on Scripture. Learn about God through His word. Not through man made ones.
@abukid Another thing...when you speak to praying to the dead. How do you know no one in scripture does it? Are you infallible? See, that's just it. Everyone who follows your path walks away with completely different interpretations about scriptura and ALL claim inspiration of the Holy Spirit until asked if they are infallible and then they reveal that they are not.
And instead of reading scripture where Jesus tells us we will KNOW the truth, and he will bind and loose, you rely blind faith.
@abukid Here's something else. Look at ANY protestant/bible church and ask yourself if you've ever heard the church's doctrines change from person to person, pastor to pastor, chronology, ect.
Either they were correct then or now, but at least at some point they were wrong, and the question becomes how can they claim the Holy Spirit's guidance?
@abukid What I am saying is just so purely logical and not because I said it...me saying it is actually irrelevent. Put your biases aside and just think about it for a second...don't reply back rapid fire. Think about what I am saying for a second. I never fear anyone else's opinion.
Do this...think about the church you attend. Ask them to show you they're heritage, and trace it back to Christ, as the Bible does by passing on authority by laying on of hands. It might go back 20-50 yrs I bet.
@abukid Now think about it, either ALL christians, christian communities, and churches were all obstinate heretics and Christ had abandoned his flock, and church which obviously didn't happen as Christ promised us that he would not.
Or...do you think that possibly the protestants/non-catholics today could just possibly be wrong? Either ALL christians for the first 1,400 years were heretics. Those who spoke the language, culture, churches, and had pure disdain for heretics, learned from John.
@abukid Here's another way to look at it. Show me even example of a christian throughout history who held to sola scriptura...or the do it yourself bible christian for even the first 1,400 years. Doesn't it seem a little strange to you that ALL the earliest christians believed explicitly Catholic doctrines, Catholic authority, ect and yet they were by far the closest to Christ even learning directly from the apostle John?
Don't you think they should have taught what you believe?
@NotByBreadAlone77 Jesus Christ had His 3 1/2 years ministry on earth. Why don't you read the Scripture and pattern His teachings to a church that resembles it. Not a perfect church since there is no such a thing but at least close to Christ ministries. You will never missed. It will give you heaven and eternal life. Did Jesus Christ prayed to the dead people? No, right. Then, Catholic church is not for you.
