I wish JJ had done more acting, I know he's been busy as a singer and he's one of the best there ever was, but I still would've liked to see more as he's quite good. Always thought he'd made a good villain on Columbo or something, but producers just didn't see him that way I guess. We'll always have The Comeback, of course...
This originally aired on January 8, 1965. This is the kind of "nutty" sketch that Jack's writers excelled at, with Benny in an "offbeat" role. Everyone gets a chance to shine here- even Don Wilson. I met Lee Meriwether a few years ago, and she told me Jack was a VERY kind and caring person, especially to her mother when she visited the set during the filming of this episode...
