I made this in Windows movie maker. Sorry if the quality is poor. This is a very optimistic/patriotic message. I know the reality of peak oil and that nothing I listed in this video will solve all our problems, but it will buy us some time. The point of this video is that energy solutions don't have to be either/or.

This video is NOT about the environment. It is about common sense energy solutions. I made this during the presidential election because I was sick of hearing that either you are for alternative energy or you are for further expansion of domestic drilling when in reality we will need both.

I think we will have an energy crisis if we don't consider all options including updating and developing more domestic energy sources.

It's not introducing any new ideas, it is just reminding people to consider everything.

As of 2008, the United States ranks first in the world in wind power capacity, followed by Germany, Spain, and China. Denmark ranks ninth in the world in wind power capacity, but generates about 20% of its electricity from wind.

Hydroelectric power water use "The trend for the future will probably be to build small-scale hydro plants that can generate electricity for a single community."

  • GREAT VIDEO !!!

    But I have to disagree

We WONT do anything to solve the problem until we overturn the current congressional left and replace it with common sense congressmen.

THIS congress has done everything in it's power to keep us dependent upon foreign oil.

    THEY SCREAM ABOUT THE CHILDREN....

yet they saddle our children with $10 (or more) per gallon of gas by the time THEY start driving.

They can't get it through their thick sculls that we're the ONLY country BANNING our own energy.

  • I agree!

  • i though china was leader in wind power

  • We Don't need to consume less...

We need to Invade more :)

  • its really quite a shame that it take lots and lots of oil powered machinery to build all those things

that means that no matter how high oil goes it will always be more cost efficient

we should have listened to jimmy carter

  • The U.S. Geological Survey said that "The trend for the future will probably be to build small-scale hydro plants that can generate electricity for a single community." I'll put a link up over on the side.

  • In other words we are beyond "peak" hydro, so to speak. :)

  • Ah, I see.

  • My understanding is that hydo is the cheapest form of electricity generation. (cheaper than coal) I don't know what other standard of efficiency you could be referring to. The problem is that it's tapped out. There are no more rivers to build hydro power stations at. That's why no one talks about it, there's nothing to be done.

  • I've been wondering for a while why Americans don't ever talk about hydroelectricity. It hasn't been less efficient than coal since the 19th century, and it isn't nearly as volatile as the oil industry. Can someone clue me in?

  • Yep, you are right NHM. Just another scam for these guys. Offer false solutions.

Is there problems with the environment? You bet, but these guys are pushing false solutions to just bring us under more control.

  • How can we break our dependance? Pretty simple, we make sacrifices. Sacrifices 99% of Americans are not willing to make because it will interupt their sleep walking through life.

This video is kinda pointless, though I like the message the creator is trying to send. The technology is already there for us to be off of oil. Its just a matter of getting it out from under control of the same people who want to keep us on oil.
