These guys were top in their field in the 1970's. They traveled the United States, singing gospel music and spreading the word of Jesus Christ to all that would listen. Their 4 part harmony and their music arrangements always made them a favorite in the gospel music quartet field.

  • Vedio very good. Always loved to go see the chords. Does anyone know how I can get their music, used to have a lot of albums, but they got lost in the process of moving

  • Thank you so very much for leaving the comment. I am working on making their music digital and soon maybe we can get that taken care for you. I have a tribute to the Gospel Chords on myspace and I would love to have you on their site as well. If you have any stories you can tell us about them we would love to hear them.

  • I remember this group! They used to sing around Atlanta all the time at a place called The Joyful Noise. They were awesome, and really nice guys!

I wish they never broke up.

  • Great guys! I enjoyed hanging out with them and was happy to do art on the back of the Christmas album.

  • I would pay good money for a cd of this group, I loved them then and still do, what a Godly inspiration they were!!

  • Wonderful quartet. Maybe out of Youngstown, Ohio area. Saw them several places in Northwest PA. - such as Warren and then around the Pittsburgh area too. They could fill a huge church, play the low card on a festival such as the opening act for the Cathedral Quartet, and again a small coffee house of Lazarus Tomb in New Kensington, PA. they performed with the same energy and committment bringing a strong testimony to all.

  • Wow... I remember these guys from long long ago. They used to play at my grandfathers church in Spring Creek, PA. I was only about 3 or 4 years at the time but I remember them quite well. I think I still have a few of their LP's laying around somewhere. And.... if I remember correctly the blond haired guy did a great Donald Duck impersonation. I used to bug the poor guy constantly to hear it.

    Thanks for posting. =o)

  • Doug: Thanks for posting this. It was a nice trip down memory lane! Believe it or not, I just reconnected with Dave, Scott, Gary, LynnRoyce and Mark this week, how ironic!

  • I remember The Chords fondly...they sang several times at our church in Clark PA. Thank you postin this!

  • Doug,

I'd love to be able to get there music on disc. We had them on 8 track and have no idea where they have gone.

We saw them at the Joyful Noise as well. I became a believer sitting in the back of a car listening to their music at the age of 10. Getting is on disc would really be a blessing.

  • I met Dave and the guys mid '70's while performing on the Gene Carroll Show in Cleveland. Loved their music, and Dave's friendship was influencial to my Christian walk. Dave, if your out there, Glenn Williams says "thank you". Love to have your music on disc, hope that can become a reality soon!!
