The Howard Hanson Dam will have limited holding capacity this year due to the discovery of structural damage after the January 2009 record pool level. The bags stand 3 feet tall and weigh nearly two tons each.

  • Update, repairs at the dam have included the installation of a grout curtain, refurbishing the existing drainage tunnels, and the creation of additional drainage feeders to the drainage tunnel. Testing to occur post flood season in the summer of 2011 to validate the effectiveness of the repairs by raising the reservoir pool elevation.
