  • have you experimented with any of the slightly heavyer loads in the 22 win mag like the 45 grain win dyna point , and the old reliable 50 grain fed jhp? iv taken a number of coyotes with center fire stuff and anumber with 22 mag and 30 grain vmax but would feel a lot better with a slightly heavyer bullet in a 22 mag anothing 40 grs and up the 45 grain dyna point plated hollow points seem like they would hammer a coyote/wolf pretty hard with head shots and garentee penetration

  • @nitroexpress700 No I haven't experimented with any different loads other than the 33 grain jhp made by winchester. This is why I chose the 22 mag over the 17 hmr, the variety of different ammunition is awesome. I still have a 100 rounds in the wins, but look forward to running a few federals out the barrel and what ever else I can get my hands on. On this coyote the winchester jhp exploded on impact with only fragments of lead exiting the skull. I like how the round explodes like a grenade!

  • what would u recomend for coyote hunting 22 mag or 17 hmr

  • @countrymusic881 The .22 mag has a broader range of ammunition from brands to bullet weight. 17 hmr shoots a 20 grn round, which in my opinion is to light for shooting coyotes. Not to say it wouldn't kill but heavier rounds give more punch and do better in the wind. You can't go wrong with the 22 wmr.

  • what clamp or mount are you using for the cam

  • @TheIrishHunting The drift camera comes with a elastic strap mount that can be adjusted for different diameters. I've chosen the head mount over the gun mount.

  • bad ass i will be attempting to hunt yotes with my 597 HB 22 mag thanks for the videos we need more on here

  • I'm so tired of the word inhumane. You guys want to know what's inhumane? People calling themselves hunters who can't take kill shots with ANY calibre rifle. If you don't know where the heart is of an animal, don't shoot it. If you can't make an accurate head shot at 100yds you shouldn't be hunting period. Skill is what makes someone a hunter. Not hunting a coyote with a .308 and shooting it in the lung. If you can't call a coyote correctly hunting with a .338 lapua won't make you a better shot.

  • 22 wmr. is a far better choice than the 17hmr for anything larger than a ground squirrel. I started out with a 17 and quickly traded up to a 22 mag, in actual shooting a 22 lr kills better than a 17 hmr. Thanks for the video.

  • @the934x4 .22WMR and LR sure...but the 22 Hornet can take Coyotes out easily past 100 yards...humanely. If you are using the pelts, most of the calibers you listed are wayyyyy to much. .22 Hornet, .204 Ruger and mayber a .223 handloaded down.

  • @Quadzilla010 k thanks man

  • Deffinitly think about upgrading to a larger caliber, Such as a 22-250, or 243 Etc. Not bad with a 22 MAG. But alll in all your going to get more out of the larger calibers then you are that 22.

  • Savage M11, .243 win, eabco barrel, Timney trigger, nikon coyote special scope:14X, Winchester bipod, 58gr superformance Vmax loads:$780. Dead coyote:priceless :)

  • I wouldn't recommend the .22WMR, hornet or LR for anything over 50yds on coyote sized game. Inhumane. 22-250,223,308, or my personal favorite, the .243 with 58 grain Vmax loads will put them down out to 500yds easily

  • @Quadzilla010 nice right on man well on a positive not i was out trapping today and was about to shoot 6 coyotes with my 22 mag all were with the 45 grain dyna plated hollow points. nice neet entry wound and about a dime /nickle size exit on all head shots wich is fine it kills them drt and i like that fact exp since in northern ab and bc we got wolves i herd the 30 grain xtp is pretty nice and has some what delayed expansion then explosed inside im gonna be trying these as well
