ESF Dream Camp keeps kids off the streets in the summer!

Established in 1998, Dream Camp has provided over 4,500 scholarships to low-income children to attend its year-round mentoring program in two of the nation's most violent and depressed cities -- Hartford, CT and Philadelphia, PA. Children and families participate in Dream Camp free-of-charge thanks to the generosity of kind-hearted donors who believe in making a difference among children whose lives are marred by poverty, discrimination, and violence. These children are underfed and often, the snacks and meals that they receive at Dream camp are the only source of healthy food they eat all day. They live in some of the most underserved neighborhoods in Hartford and Philadelphia. They witness violence and criminality on a daily basis. They attend drastically underperforming schools and few, if any, participate in extracurricular activities outside of Dream Camp. Their lives are laden with misfortune and despair but these children have not lost hope. For them, Dream Camp IS their source of unshakable hope. Dream Camp helps these children to discover their extraordinary gifts and talents and encourages them to rise above the overwhelming adversity that faces them everyday.
