Wow its just horrible and seems theimportant things are always on the back page of the news. Great info on this, which i remeber seeing briefly on Geo. It should be in political campaigns and i remain outraged and at the same time dumbfounded!

It's soo sad....not only for the animals who ingest the plastic but for us who eat the sea creatures who ingest the plastic...I can only imagine what the cancer rates will be like in 20 years.

I'm going to build a home on The Great Garbage Patch in the Pacific. Build my walls out of plastic bottles it'll be great. And my kids will have gills - its the real life Water World!

its outrageous that i have not been educated about this in school, im 14 years old and this is the FIRST time ive ever heard the phrase "garbage vortex" i cannot beleive that a problem this big is not geting more attention, astonishing really.
