always nice to see a condensing furnace in an unconditioned space. My company did this once and we had to put heat tape on all the condensate lines.

@tstatech We get well below freezing here, we had 56 days this past winter where temperature did not get over 26 degrees ! On our attic 90's we insulate our vents with appropriate size Armour -Flex or as 5tank would sat RUBY-TEX !!! lol ( NO PROBLEMS)... As for condensate itself , I pipe my condensation line (also wraped in RUBY-TEX) to a code enforcement approved indoor Plumbing Receptacle...
You're welcome, dallas. Most leak/no-heat calls on those Goodmans are installation-related problems. It's amazing how many callbacks are due to a guy not using a level or reading the installation instructions!

Short radius elbow, nice. is that in an attic? if so what the hell is it doing there? The condensate will freeze. Every 90% furnace I have ever seen in attic had it's own little conditioned room to live in.

@tstatech Yes, that is in an attic. We don't deal with freezing temperatures here in SoCal on a regular basis (though I have seen snow in the very town this service call took place in). You probably don't work in 130 degree attics in the summer. Many of us work in VERY different conditions. I've worked in extreme heat and extreme cold. I'd rather sweat!

Great video, do you think they used primer as glue ?
That is why I go on and on about EMERGENCY DRAIN PANS with a safet float switch, we have to extend past appliance and coil , on all sides 6 inches, I would have to pay for that water damage out of my POCKET, so my insurance would not get jacked SKY HIGH !!!
Great job, vent looks GOOD brother !!!

@fritzhvac We use Red Hot Blue Glue. Easy to visually confirm that all joints are glued. That gray PVC fitting must be slightly smaller than the outside diameter of Sched40 PVC. The coupling didn't sit squarely on that fitting, which is obviously not designed for a rigid connection. Not enough insertion for a 2" fitting. I'm a fan of putting the 90%er in a pan, too. The biggest secondary pan I ever made was 70" x 32" x 1.5" deep.

I had to do that exact repair last fall.

@mazzmari I do a few of these a year. I cringe when I get into an attic and see the vents connected without that rubber sleeve. Surprisingly, most don't leak. This job was 3 years old. I've spoken to superintendants about this. The field guys now leave all the leftover contents of the kit with the furnace. It's easier to fix the problem when the factory parts are on site.
