@iniche I said "sort of". You don't exactly catch the rat. And actually, the rat isn't always in the gameplay. Remember where Ocelot shoots the PAL card out of Snake's hands when he first reaches the top of Metal Gear and he drops it in the drain below? Well, in some playthroughs, a rat sort of has the PAL card. You have to get it from the rat.

@Opalauge88 they have a lot of paralels,but Metal Gear Solid is NOT a remake it just continues the series in 3D

@thechosen2010 How about these:
-Dr Kio Marv being tortured to death, like the real Darpa Chief.
-Catching (sort of) an animal: here it's a bird; mgs it's a mouse/rat.
-All your equipment gone by the final battle.
-1 fist fight in a very small battlefield surrounded by danger (Gray Fox/Liquid).
-A form of cardboard box travel.
-Fighting someone with a visual disadvantage (Night Fright (is it) and Psycho Mantis).

Here's a few more parallels:
*Getting a call from "One of your fans"
*Exiting the building at the end with Snake's love interest.
*A battle against a Hind D, with your weapon being Stinger Missiles.
*A fist fight with Gray Fox.
*Meeting up with a female dressed up as an enemy soldier in the ladies restroom.
