Hawkesbury's PGW autoglass plant has been closed indefinitely.
On November 6 workers gathered outside the plant and hung their boots on the fence. It was a difficult time for many, who wondered what the future holds for their families.
Many worried about access top pensions or their ability to find new jobs.
Yves Charlebois — the chairperson for the Canadian Auto Workers union at the Hawkesbury plant, as well as the previously-closed Oshawa plant — led workers in releasing black balloons.
The plant employed 169 people during the last year; however in 2005 there were 545 employees.
