If you watch the 35 sec video, he's not putting change in the cup, he's scooping it out of the cup. Your fingers extend when u drop change, but his curl in toward his palm. There's change visible when he makes his puchase and change visible after his hand passes over the cup, but after he stands writing by the lottery display and finally leaves, the cup is now empty.
