This film touches the soul of Iceland. It lets you hear, see and feel the fascination and mysticism of this country. The very first scene shows Iceland the way it is: wild and brute, full of energy, yet at the same time gentle. In the seemingly unreal light of the setting sun, waves several metres high move unstoppably and with thunderous roar toward the black lava beach of Vík í Mýrdal. This is where the journey of Stefan Erdmann begins; and from where it leads to all regions of this unique island in the North Atlantic.
In an extensive, fascinating and personal style, the film maker documents the adventures and impressions of his journey across the Earth's largest volcanic island. No other film shows Iceland so intense, so emotional and so informative.
