  • I am shocked at how obviously this was ripped off for "Om Shanti Om" in the 1980 movie Karz. Shorty really should have been given credit.

  • I completely agree with you. Kishore Kumar ruled in the Indian version. But Laxmikant Pyarelal are still wrong for not giving proper credit for their version of this song.

  • I am Indian and have been born and raised in England. I only discovered Soca music by accident on the radio and after web searches came to this link. This just makes me wana visit Trinidad!!!

  • @Rayoflight8 thank god you actually got it......

  • @prateekluthra911 you mean like he copied kishore 6 years before kishore sang the song after traveling in a time machine ?

  • amazing and also amused to see this.gr8 work man lyrics are superb!

  • Thank You for uploading the original kaiso. This is his best and still a classic. He was truly a master...... RIP from a proud Trini

  • This is not the first time blatant plagiarism happens to Trinidadian music. In Brazil Geronimo did a version of a song by Lord Kitchner, named it "Jubiaba", and listed himself as the author in his album. I actually watched an interview where he said: "When I made Jubiaba"... Later Os Paralamas do Sucesso recorded Jubiabá and gave proper credit to the author. I viewed that as an "in your face" to Geronimo.

  • It was great that lord shorty gave credit to Indians about om shanti om. LP should have similary given credit to him for the song though.

  • @prateekluthra911 Kishore Kumar actually copied it from Lord Shorty

  • One of the greatest songs ever produced in Trinidad. I can still see my father singing this song and sipping his coffee with a smile of contentment on his face. Love you dad! Thank you Shorty.

  • @prateekluthra911 you got it backwards...
