The Living Wake is a dark comedy set in a timeless storybook universe. Self—proclaimed artist and genius, K. Roth Binew (Mike O'Connell, "What's It Gonna Be"), has one day to live. He has enlisted his best and only friend, Mills Joquin (Jesse Eisenberg, "Zombieland", "Adventureland"), to take him around on a bicycle powered rickshaw. In a final attempt to probe life's deepest mysteries, Binew endures one ridiculous trial after the next. He concludes his day with a final performance, his living wake. On a makeshift stage in an open field, Binew's friends and enemies gather to witness his madness one final time.

  • This is an excellent film that is vastly underappreciated. Though it was released in 2007, I have only just seen it. I would highly recommend it to anyone who enjoys dark humour and acidic wit. Pay no attention to IMDB or Rotten Tomatoes: both are corrupt shams, as I have previously realised, and both rate this film much lower than it deserves. I do not know who the director offended, but the industry seems out to bury him. His enemies be damned--this is a masterpiece!

  • Jesse Eisenberg is my hero

  • i didnt think of conan until i saw your comments. i was thinking of my crazy friend ryan. he is a blonde madman who is pretty much hated drinks all day and is something of an artist. but he doesnt talk as cool as that guy at all. he does dress up in old style suits though.

  • Terrible.

  • I'M SO GLAD I'M NOT THE ONLY ONE WHO WAS CONSTANTLY REMINDED OF CONAN! XD

  • @hawkd68 - Right! I felt like I was watching Conan the whole time. What a BRILLIANT film!
