On Sunday 5 September 2010, Bill and Nikki Coombes celebrated their 25th Wedding Anniversary at the newly re-opened Donington Park Circuit.
Over the weekend Bill competed in the Masters Racing Club's Grand Prix Masters races. After gearbox trouble, Bill moved up the grid from 13th place to start the Sunday race 3rd on the grid. Straight off Bill took the lead and built up a 7 second lead before a car spun off and Bill was held back by the safety car. Still Bill went on to win the race - a perfectly exciting way to celebrate Bill & Nikki's 25th Wedding Anniversary.
On the Sunday, there were also demonstations of Grand Prix and Donington Collection racing cars together with a race of pre-1966 Minis and numberous fly pasts from aircraft landing at East Midlands Airport. A great celebration of Donington Revived! and Bill and Nikki's 25th.
@sardosfish LOL. Fair call, although I'm not fat or rich - save up my pennies, don't go on holiday and drive a crap car on the road.
