I attempted this trail when I was down there last week. I got stymied by a fallen tree about half way through. No way to get past at all without a chain saw! Grrr.

Well, I attempted this on my trip down that way last week, and got stymied by a fallen tree a little over half way through. No way around it at all. Grrr!

I felt like I was there. I curently ride a WR450F and have been looking to move to a GS. What type of tire set up are you using?

@recalcal I think I was running Metzeler Tourance tires on this ride. I'm now running Heidenau K-60 scout tires. The Heidenau tires have been my all-around favorite tire. Good luck on the GS.

Nice ride! A bit gnarly, but if you can handle it with the big 1200, I should be able to cope on my DR650. That "road" will be on my itinerary for my next visit early in the fall.

@dprider02 Thanks! The DR would be an excellent choice. Make sure you check out Max Patch when up there. Max Patch is a grassy bald with 360 views of the Smokies..
