Just a little info on Palin's National Security Credentials. The Alaskan National Guard, unlike other Guard units, is on permanent active duty 24/7. Alaska is the first line of defense in our missile interceptor defense system. The 49th Missile Defense Battalion (Ground-based Missile Defense), Alaska Army National Guard, was activated on January 22, 2004 at Fort Greely, Alaska. The battalion provides operational control and security over ground-based interceptors to protect our entire nation from limited ballistic missile attacks. The battalion is part of the 100th Missile Defense Brigade (Ground-based Midcourse Defense) headquartered in Colorado Springs, Colorado. She's also the commander in chief of the Alaska State Defense Force (ASDF), a federally recognized militia incorporated into Homeland Security's counterterrorism plans. Alaska State Defense Force (ASDF) is the modern force which carries on the traditions of the Alaska Territorial Guard founded during World War II. Although the original territorial guard was disbanded, the State of Alaska enacted a militia statute and in 1984 the Alaska State Guard was formed, which was renamed in 1987 as the Alaska State Defense Force. It is administered under the department of Veterans Affairs but headed by a commander who reports directly to the governor as its commander-in-chief.As governor of Alaska, Palin is briefed on highly classified military issues, homeland security, and counterterrorism. Palin is privy to military and intelligence secrets that are vital to the entire country's defense. Given Alaska's proximity to Russia, she may have security clearances we don't even know about.
Maj. Gen. Craig Campbell, adjutant general of the Alaska National Guard, considers Palin "extremely responsive and smart" and says she is in charge when it comes to in-state services, such as emergencies and natural disasters where the National Guard is the first responder.

But, in an interview with The Associated Press on Sunday, he said he and Palin play no role in national defense activities, even when they involve the Alaska National Guard. The entire operation is under federal control, and the governor is not briefed on situations. No doubt the Obamabots, will make a big to do about this detail, however, given the fact that there is such a short distance between Alaska and Russia, do you really think that they would try to call the Governor, or for that matter the President, before defending our nation? It could be all over before Obama got out his first "Ahhh".

Obama claims that he didn't even know she was there. Since the news came out that she is an illegal alien, a Democratic Congressman has expressed outrage that the story of her alien status has come to light, and is calling for a investigation to find out who leaked this story to the press. No outrage over Obama not proving his citizenship. No outrage over the treatment of Joe the plummer or Sarah Palin. Outrage that the media reported the truth about Obama's Aunt.

In 2007 my national guard unit was federalized. We were deployed to kuwait. She checked up on her soldiers. She checked out, current military equipment and had lunch and dinner with soldiers.
