@MrBuckstopshere Keith played lead on the original- it was recorded in '68 -a year before Mick Taylor joined the band. See the movie 'Sympathy For The Devil' for the recording process.

its 1975, hes more than likely doped to the hills. also he is a singer who always sings a song differrently every time, its just his thing. but yes there is some distortion in the recording
Keith was the bass player on the original version. Bill Wyman played maracas.
