No. Keep Humoring yourself, until I see some validation of his notability of expertise, I don't believe anything that comes out of your mouth, everyone can clearly speak for themselves when they say he's holding the poor turtle in a hurtful way. How can you sit here and say he's the leading herpetologist on the east coast but yet not give me a name, if he's that good, so many people would know he this guy is, hahaha contradiction much? you're clearly wrong here.

I have volenteerd at a reptile shop and they had a snapping turtle and I would grab it in between the legs and tail just to help move it in another spot wile cleaning.

Personally I wouldve laughed so hard if this guy got bitten in the leg or something, he deserves it. Snapping turtles deserve to be left alone when found in the wild and if in captivity then they need to be picked up by the shell....not their body parts! The tail may not be meant to hold their weight but same with the legs! If you dont think it hurts them, then let someone hold you up by your one leg and dangle you upside down!

Ok. The turtle is so scared that it pissed itself, then the guy holds it by its legs saying it doesn't hurt them? I have a snapping turtle, I pick him by his shell until I have room to put my hand underneath him for good support so he's not angry or feel threatened. Also, tickling their belly DOES NOT mellow them out. It pisses them off all the more...I would know from experience because my turtle HATES it. Frankly it pisses me off seeing people hold snappers like that.

Thoes claws they just tear into ya
What the hell are you doing?? You holding him by the legs will hurt him as much as holding him by the fucking tail, not to mention how much stress you did to him by keeping him on his back. Leave the damn thing alone.

@litledevel15 Looks like there's some uneducated turtle lovers here. Two of the people in this video have their doctorates in Herpetology. I have a feeling they know what is good and bad for the turtle. They specialize in conservation.

@dgw787
bullshit, if they were such experts they wouldn't be holding by the legs, hold a turtle by any of it's ligaments is bad news, it does prolonged damage then they initally detach after a while, not to mention that when they're upside down, the organ basically collapse on the turtle adding too much weight to it's respiratory system, aka it doesn't breathe. yeah, doctorate degree my ass.

@litledevel15 - keep humoring your self. If you studied the field much, you would probably know who the Dr holding him is. I'm not going to drop names out of respect for him, but he is one of the leading herpetologist/conservationist on the east coast. Most notably in the southeast.
