@19920307alex So wrong. Exhaust only directs the output of gas and absorbs sound. If you put catalyst with it, you can also have control of emissions at the same time but the engine is the main source of the sound. I advise you to do research on these issues;

Numbers of cylinder,

Crankshaft layouts,

Firing order & Exhaust pulse,

Unequal, Equal length & 180-degree headers.

You will see that all connected to each other and also quite enjoyable.
