@whyberb Why should having influences take any thing away from what he does? Sorry I'm just a very logical person, and to me human nature is all about influence and music is no different. It doesn't take any of the hard work, or his experiences that he puts into his music, it's just the way humans work.

@dom182 yes we can say that the whole world has a format but its what you do to break away from it that makes you truely an artist...im sure hardy has a couple of favorite bands but he makes his own music and to deny that makes him seem less of an artist

@whyberb Sorry to say it but music has a format, once you study it, it does take some of the elements you said out of it. It doesn't matter if you think he has more variety, every musician out there is influenced by some one they adhered too when they where younger and there music will more often than not reflect that.

@dom182 its not naive...for one as an artist i think that lumping someone into a genre is naive..im not sure what kind of indie you have been listening to... kurt doesnt have the variety that hardy morris has vocally and lyrical.music at the heart is a personal reflection so saying he sounds like somebody is completely missing the very point of his music

@whyberb I think it's naive to deny he sounds like Kurt, I bet they where heavily influenced by them, there is nothing wrong with that, it is if any thing a compliment, personally never liked Nirvana but you cannot deny they where loved and had a heavy influence on music today, particularly in the indie scene.

i dont think he sounds like kurt nor should he be compared...i think he is his own kurt didnt have the passion nor the lyrical ability that Hardy Morris has...Start Me Laughing has is almost like releasing demons... Dead Confederate is their own band and ill rock them till the day I die
