How to make a small base, to be used for a diorama setting or just plain as you see fit.

Materials needed:

Your favourite type base

Oasis

A sharp knife

White glue

Various paints

Any diorama materials of your choice

Oasis should be readily available from any florist that makes their own flower arrangements, costing approximately £1 / £2 a block.

  • Does PVA glue or Poly cement work?

  • @alfiesmachinima I mainly use PVA glue for my bases... :) I have improved the method now, as shown in my last couple of videos, i.e the Airfix Buffalo and the Tamiya Bren Carrier, which both are on bases. :)

  • could you use polystyrene foam

  • @JAMIESAFC1999 I would imagine so, but it probably won't shape as easily.. :)

  • very helpfulll hints but i was interested in getting into modelling ww11 and was wondering the best places to get my kits from

  • @woodysforest If you live anywhere near Lowestoft, go to Hannants in Oulton Broads.. if not try their website! Other than that you may have a local hobbystore, where you live.. Always support your local store if you can.. :)
