Cobra Jet @ Pomoma Winternationals 2009

Congratulations to John Calvert and the Team Hajek Al Joniec tribute Cobra Jet for taking the Wally at the 2009 NHRA Winternationals. On his way to the finals, this video shows John Calvert demonstrating the power of the Ford Racing Cobra Jet Mustang as it lines up against a big block Camaro during a qualifying run. As you'll see, Ford horsepower and the CalTracs suspension system work very well together.

Most of the fastest "front wheel drive" cars have been converted to rear wheel drive. The rest get 3 weekends on the drive train, and have to replace everything.

Whatever you drive, it is more sensible to compare equal weight, equal equipment, equal engine size cars than toss out a bunch of (real or imagined) times.

When the first front wheel drive top fuel dragster shows up to party, I'll be impressed. Until then, rear wheel drive rules.

Are you near Mich ... Maybe my cousing will show you what it's about on a his 4 wheeler.. He runs it at Milan. but runs the 1/8 in it.. 6.50 is not to bad on the back tires.

Yes in my opinion .... A stick with wheels does not impress me, but does not dismiss the fact that 7.50's is fast.. but no just so you know that was then when my car was running 9.40's and just so happens my 10.5 door slammer with a 106mm turbo runs 7.60's and 80's what were you saying about that civic again.. Hell you want meet me at a track and try that civic out for 5k. let me know if your still talking out of your ass

So by your logic a car has to be an outlaw doorslammer before 7 seconds is impressive? Sorry, last time I checked, the win light and the ET timers don't discriminate based on vehicles.

Where a fwd car goes by you depends on how much quicker it is. The Civic around here that runs 8.70's would likely go flying by you at 1100 feet and keep pulling away.

Yeah they might go by me at top end but.. how long is it gonna take for that to happen.. hence the fact that my car was topped out at the 1/4. Im assuming you think a civic is the allmighty king of all huh. snap crackle pop rice crispies.

Wow. Good for you. You run 9.40s. I've ran a 7.50 in my uncle's Top Dragster.

Don't worry, just because you haven't been beaten by a Civic doesn't mean anything. There's many Civics out there quicker than your car. It's funny to watch. Civics that run low 9s would be trapping 20 mph higher than your car. They'd go by you at top end like you're sitting still.
