I would tune to WTNH at 2 AM just to watch the sign-off. What memories. Thanks.

A reason I love youtube. Doing a random search for an old TV sign off and finding three results.
I loved that music :).

OMG I love YouTube! I have lived in New Haven all my life and never thought I would ever find this! Wow, memories.

This was after Capital Cities divested of Ch. 8 following its merger with ABC (which also saw the network sell off WXYZ in Detroit to Scripps-Howard, which already owned Cleveland affiliate WEWS).

I remember this sign-off very well. From the music and scenes to the "Boxy 8" logo that has lasted from the mid to late 1970's till the 1990's.
