  • Great video... it's fun to see the storm from the mountain... when you are talking about the merlin airport... my video was shot just about a mile north of the airport.... and the datsun worked just fine for a tripod!

  • Many years ago I was down below Agness on the Rogue River in a little two man tent when late at night a storm rolled in! The thunder was very intense... for an hour... it was incredible!

  • I spent a summer doing security for a road building crew on top of Onion Mountain, between Galice and Grants Pass. Thunder storms almost every night, not a drop of rain down in the valley. A beautiful summer.

  • Southern Oregon gets crazy weather and Northern Oregon gets it more intence then us.

  • Stay safe in Afghanistan, the storms will be waiting for your return.

  • yeah I know right I had to move to corvallis and we get like one good one a year sucks I bet Afghanistan will have better storms there when I go ha.

  • I remember this one. Tranformer in front of the house was hit. I was standing on the porch! OMG was that ever a message of how powerful Mother Nature is. Thanks for posting.

  • Right on!

Well, we may get our near-memorial day thunderstorm this week after all. So, while I can't take video (DSLR without a video option) I WILL be out taking some time lapse! Or in the very least, some long exposures.

By the way, I'm Pryial from down below. Was tired of the old name. :-)

  • I LOVE THIS! THANK YOU SO MUCH!

  • Awe man, I think I'm going to have to break out the horrible video I have from that day. I was up on Spencer Creek with a few of my friends. LOTS of video, but it wasn't an awesome lightshow. By the time we got there, the storm was dying out. But it was bad ass nonetheless! This year, we may get lucky!
