haha well done! What a stupid time in Ottawa's history that was. 5 days a week I would run 7km to work and 7km back home. That was the only way I'd ever get in to work. Never thought about hitchhiking.. I've watched way too many movies to even try that :P
Two of my friends ended up having to miss school during the entire bus strike and only one of them was lucky enough to be able to do his work at home. The other has to catch up this summer. And my sister ended up LEAVING UNIVERSITY because she couldn't afford an alternate way to school. How sick is that?! F-you OCTranspo. A week of free service IS NOT enough.
Nicely done ladies! Documantary with safety in mind! I hope your able to do other stories as well. You make a good team! So I vowed NEVER to take the bus again and I do walk to work for an hour. Half hour each way. Still doing that as a big F you King Larry and King Andre and to save money. But forced to take the bus to get two month old test results at a walk in. And I am sick. First day on the bus and I fear riots! I still intend to walk and shop local. Amazing what you can walk to!
This is why I cannot understand why they don't declare Public Transit an essential service. Obviously, these girls are forced to put their safety at risk. What is to stop them from getting into a car with a person like Paul Barnardo, Clifford Olsen etc.? The criteria for essential service was that it would compromise the safety of the public, but they rule against it. I don't understand. Do you?
godd!!! i am sooo mad at this situation! ppl have to get to school and stuff my family does not even own a car cuz we live in the downtown area, good thing i live only a 20 min walk from school if i were at algonquin which i will b nxt yr id have NO way to get 2 school. ppl in my building r extremly nice and offer rides when it is way too cold 2 walk...there are some nice ppl out there thankfully.
You girls should be careful out there, though. I hear Cornellier is driving around in his Porsche SUV, picking up students like yourselves and then driving outside the city limits and forcing them to walk back!
"It's about inconveniencing people! What's wrong with dat?" he screams out the window as he peels away, blaring "Money (It's what I want!)" from the stereo.
Check out my interview video with a couple of douchebag bus drivers!
good luck but its not the citys fault its the head of Oc transpo and their puppets.I enjoy all city facilities trust me we have good clean ones compare to other city i was in.

Hitchhiking. That's what it's come down to.
