Ever wonder why John McCain wants to drill for oil off of our coasts so badly? It's not to help gas prices; he knows it won't help at all in the short-term, especially not when we have a clear need to get off of oil forever. There's a bipartisan coalition growing that understands we need to get off oil. But John McCain wants to dig us even deeper in the oil well, harming the environment and making us less secure in our energy needs.

So why does he want to do this, when the reality of the situation demonstrates what a terrible idea it is? I'll give you 29 guesses.

Here's a note for retarded Republicans that think off shore oil will lower prices at the pump (instead of just boosting oil company profits. A) It will take billions of dollars to get that oil and refine it. B) It will take ten years before any of it actually is processed into gas, C) The gas will be sold on the global market with most going to China, D) We export 20% of our oil, much more than we could ever get from off shore wells. Stop being a stooge for the McCain Oil Company.
