@thetrainguru I respect those with conscience, I respect Bradley Manning and Glenn Greenwald, I respect war veterans who are against war, but I have no respect for US army as whole, because it is one big ruthless killing machine, that is killing women and children, bombing innocent.
As to the "beacon of hope and freedom", some keywords: SOPA, NDAA, Patriot Act, Guantanamo Bay, waterboarding, backing of friendly totalitarian regimes...

@jotdoc hey man don't hate the United States is a beacon of hope and freedom to the world. One of the forces that defend it IS the United States Marine
so respect the serving and the fallen.

@FLICKtheUSA so am I! You have a reading comprehension problem. My father has passed therefore he is no longer fighting for freedom around the world.
