it was a special episode called the VMA Challenge. they brought back crews from seasons 1 and 2 and voters widdled it down to 2 crews, fanny pak and kaba modern, who got to perform at MTV's VMA preshow. This was the performance they did to get to the VMAs.

Kaba Modern are Gods compared to Fanny Pak. They had a name and a reputation before ABDC.
