Well, now I'm into the retainer. Which has issues of its own. Sometimes I think adults should take a pre-test (like they do for Gastric Bypass) before they go thru with braces & yrs. & yrs. of commitment. My orthodo. did tell me I'd need to wear the retainer for 2 yrs. (only off when not eating) after the braces, and then hopefully I could just get by wearing them every other night for the rest of my life. But, I didn't know the reality of it. You need the stamina of a wolf to take it.

I am glad your experiences with braces has been good, but as an adult brace wearer, I'm still suffering from the aftershock. There is no way I was prepared for the psychological impact of having braces. Braces will impact every aspect of your life. Also, you are basically going to be giving up ownership of your mouth to the orthodontist during treatment. Adults should be given more of a heads-up on these types of issues, and you really need to think about these things before getting braces.

@Lawson2882 I'm looking at getting something very similar done..and nervous! I'm 26. I dont think they will make me to self conscious, but...still going to be weird. Thanks for posting this video!

Good vid, i got Carriere metal brackets this week..
Whats up, man? I just got the exact same procedure 3 days ago. Clear on top, metal on bottom. I'm kind of self conscious about them right now. How do you deal with people when they stare at your mouth? Also.. I'm finding it hard to eat. Get better? I'll have mine for 18 months.

Oh yeah, you will get your eating pattern down...which teeth are good for chewing and such. Just takes practice. As for pain, it fades as well. I often forget I have them on. People notice and most of the time curious ask alot of questions. You'll get used to talking with them and are less noticeable

R U happy with the clear upper brackets? I got regular silver because to me the clear look like plaque build up sometimes. Plus I surf, sk8, skim ect and was told the metal braces take more abuse than clear. Clear are prone to break. Just curious. Your smile is looking good dude!

Yeah..the clear is pretty cool. People dont really notice them as easily. I've heard that also about them not being as durable but I've only had 2 brackets come loose..one right after my visit and the other when I ate something I shouldnt have.
