This is the real show, as it was intended before WWF/ WWE got involved. Enjoy!
Episode Background: In 1999, the Cosmic Smasher met with various producers for various projects. 3 of these producers decided to colaborate on a documdrama project based around the Cosmic Smasher's desire to meet Spice Girl, Baby Spice (Emma Bunton). He stated that on November 15th 1998, GOD overpowered him with love for her, even though the two had never met. His mission started from nothing, and ended in silence. He has vanished since the end of 2000, and his remaining projects were left unfinished. His goal stated left incomplete, and fame eluding him, the Cosmic Smasher is just a memory. Back then, in the year 2000, this show was intended to be a feature film. At the start of the year 2,000, there became a dispute between the film's creation over money, and an issue of trust lead to the forced departure of one of the producers and all of his years worth of aquired footage. He would have to be replaced, and everything had to be reshot in a day at a moment's notice. This was just thrown together with many people the Cosmic Smasher hardly knew so they had something to shop around. In a rush to get something out to the public, they agreed to do a one hour Cosmic Smasher special on MTV. Everything at this point seemed destined for success. He was doing a two day photo shoot with Rolling Stone Magazine for an interview, he was negotiating with Pepsi, a producer for a TV show, a producer for a movie based upon his life, and many had other producers helping him to create avenues of accomplishing his goal. However, a lot of strange things were about to occur during the final months of the year. Pepsi would call one of his relatives after finding his last name, and they would be cussed out and hung up on. Cosmic would walk out on that two day photo shoot, leaving it unfinished. The World Wrestling Federation (WWF now WWE) found out about the MTV project, and having a deal with MTV at the time, forced their way into the show. Hating the negative press backyard wrestling was giving professional wrestling, they demended their way into the show, and the Cosmic Smasher special would be destroyed and replaced with a biassed True Life episode. Everything was edited to make it look as bad as possible. Notice Cosmic's words being cut and pasted during his interviews, and that all of the awesome stuff you see on this version was left out. Once the WWF got involved, it became something completely different than what was initially intended. This was their enemy, something they had to destroy. This was the scapegoat that had to be dismantled. The Cosmic Smasher may have disappeared, but there were many that thought he was the next big thing. This was because he had a whole lot of entertainment factor and charisma. As a matter of fact, there was nothing like him before or since. Hard to tell from MTV's True Life I'm A Backyard Wrestler, which was just another WWF "Don't Try This At Home" commercial.

EDITOR'S NOTE- That was not the Cosmic Smasher's family on the True Life version of this show. I am saying this because I have read where many have assumed that this was the case. The True Life version was just built from the worst footage possible. It was just a WWF attack on backyard wrestling, and really had nothing to do with anything else.
