Don't bother, unless you are using a DSLR with video, or have a lot of time to adjust to different lighting, and don't want to take photographs of wildlife, they tend to fly away in low light when you require a slower shutter speed.

My review, Buy only if you intend on using DSLR video or are shooting in high light during a sunny day. Also if you know how to use full Manual mode just like full auto mode.

  • Do you have any video samples or full size images? Don't need a sharp lens for HD video, but would like one with aperture ring, doesn't leave options for GH2, if it can do a sharp ~4mp on an APS-C camera, it'd be good for video on a GH2 etc.

  • @Athiril, Don't have this anymore, gave it away as a Birthday/Christmas present. I was disappointed with it, but after I bought my D7000 and tried it again while visiting my Grandfather, if its a bright sunny day you can get away with some shots and movie is okay if you have a super steady tripod. Unless its a bright sunny day though, don't bother. Image quality is okay in super duper bright sun light, but lower the shutter speed is a tad slow and motion blur occurs.

  • If you want big zoom, auto and an easy life you should just buy a bridge camera and save yourself a load of hassel and money. ;D

  • @sang3Eta, I could, but then I give up most of my manual settings, my low light capability and lens changeability. I usually run with my 50mm f/1.4 which a bridge camera does not have.

  • Does this tripod Colar Rotate 360 degrees???

  • @SkateSkiSurf, It spins around the barrel freely.

  • @175myles Looking for some kind of Super Tele setup for the GH2, though think I may go for the Canon FD 400mm f/4.5 SSC, or possible digiscoping. GH2 does well low light, and you can shoot at 1/25th, which works great for video, maybe not so much for stills, plus I'm devising a narrow-angle/beam 10w LED bank for super-tele work under a canopy.

Even in daytime in can get pretty dim under a canopy, but at ISO 640 and f/8, I can properly expose for video in even EV8.

  • thank you for that info that will big help for me now i know not what to buy

  • @loybulol, It will with the right adapter, but I wouldn't waste my money if I was you, just buy a second hand Sigma tele zoom for a few hundred more, its well worth it.

  • @miketto100, It is.
